they don't smear, but wouldn't recommend for notes.I bought these specifically to use with the Moxie prn report book. It’s nice to have contrasting colors to work with. Recommend light blue for main report & red to highlight info, orange for updates. Darker colors take much more effort to erase from book. People with try to steal them for sure.I like how you can use it on laminated surfaces where it doesn't smudge, and when you use rubbing alcohol it comes off. The tip typically gets unusable within weeks.Sharpie pens and markers have a great reputation that was hard-earned. These retractable variants of their markers are so convenient, because you can grab with one hand and use them easily while another hand is busy. This is fantastic for marking lines while you're holding a level or ruler, etc. I keep two RT Sharpie markers in my apron pocket (fine and ultra fine), and it's so convenient. These dry out at the same rate as normal sharpies, so just think of it as a Sharpie, but you can't lose the cap.Nice product for moneyJust got these to replace the ultra-fine sharpies I have with caps.
